12. Law of Rhythmic Movement.

Everything moves in fixed rhythms: up, down, and up again. These cycles inevitably bring highs and lows, but those who remain inwardly balanced soften the peaks and troughs and grow with the rhythm.”

Cyclical patterns and predictability.

The Law of Rhythmic Motion, unlike the Law of Polarity, has a fixed cycle. Examples of this include the Earth rotating on its axis in a 24-hour cycle and completing an orbit around the sun in 365.25 days. The moon orbits the Earth in a 27.3-day cycle and takes 29.5 days to go from a new moon to a full moon. A cycle is therefore a fixed circular movement where the duration of the movement always remains the same: a repetition of the same thing. We also see this principle reflected in the succession of the seasons: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Life stages such as birth, death, and rebirth also form a recurring pattern. Although the cycle repeats itself, each physical experience is unique. These cycles are necessary for development.

A characteristic of a cycle is that the circular movement goes in one direction; a logical consequence is that it always returns to its starting situation. The order within a cycle is fixed; after winter always comes spring. Now that we are familiar with the concept of a cycle and link a human timeframe to it, we can make predictions and anticipate them. For instance, with the cycle of seasons, we know that spring follows winter and that spring is the best time to sow. The cycle provides seasons, developmental stages, and patterns that all reflect the regularity of the universe. What cycle are you in? The positive flow or the negative flow. Is it time to sow or to rest? When we experience a less favourable phase, we can consciously limit the negative consequences by applying the Law of Polarity.

The inevitable cycle.

The Law of Vibration teaches us that everything vibrates and moves in circular patterns. The Law of Polarity teaches us that every thing has an opposite and movement can go in two directions. The Law of Rhythmic Motion teaches us that everything vibrates or reacts according to a certain rhythm or cycle; movement continuously goes in one direction, from peak to trough to peak: up, down, and up; rise, fall, and rise. This rhythm accounts for seasons, cycles, developmental stages and patterns. These cycles account for our peaks and thus also for our troughs. They are applicable to all areas of human life and what comes with it. Thus, for everything in the universe, the Law of Rhythmic Motion applies. The Law of Polarity has two extremes; with the Law of Rhythmic Motion, these two extremes are connected and movement can only go in one direction, which guarantees the cycles or rhythms. There is no escape; this law always ensures development. The Law also states that for every peak there will be a trough. Therefore, everyone has the choice to control their emotional and mental state to reduce the peaks and troughs. The Law guarantees that extreme troughs will follow extreme peaks. The key to success in managing the peaks and troughs is balance.

Groundhog Day.

Now we can determine whether we are in an upward or downward cycle in our lives, our business, or our relationships. Regardless, we will all face the Law of Rhythmic Movement in our lives. In short, one can overcome the Law by always keeping mental and emotional states under control, so that no new peaks or troughs are created. This is possible by utilising the Law of Transmutation and the Law of Polarity. The goal is, as always, development. Personally, I find the film Groundhog Day a fitting metaphor. The main character relives the exact same day every day until he starts making different decisions, and his reality changes. Once we understand it, the doors will open. Regardless, the different experiences with the same themes will keep returning to us until we see it.

Heartbeat of the universe.

Norma Milanovich and Shirley McCune describe the rhythm of the universe as follows:

The universe moves cyclically, with energy flowing first in one direction and then the other. This movement is described as the rhythm of the universe, and this rhythm is found in all things. It is called the Law of Rhythmic Movement. The principles underlying this law are described as the movement of the inhalation and exhalation of God. Life moves in cycles, constantly renewing itself, first from the peaks and then from the valleys, then from within and then from without. These rhythms connect the two extremes revealed in the Law of Polarity. These rhythmic movements form the heartbeat and pulsation of life itself.
